Supermarket Shelves: How Best to Organise Them – Part 2

If you are looking to start up your own supermarket or local convenience store, take a look at these tips to help you make the most of your supermarket shelving and layout from the get go!

Initially, it is a good idea to remain focussed on only a few items. Most stores should start out with at least three sections (fresh produce, frozen foods and dairy) and then expand their selection as they grow. Supermarket Shelving

The reason for this is that supermarkets starting out should be a convenience to their clients and carry the most essential items.

Secondly, it is always a good idea to highlight specials on supermarket shelves so that shoppers are aware of the specials that are available.

Hand in hand with this is clever placement of products. Use your shelving strategically so that shoppers are enticed to buy more things from your store. For instance, place salad dressings near the section of the store that shelves the lettuce. Often clever placements such as this lead to people buying things they had no intention of buying when they came into the store.

Lastly, often rearranging the shelves or the aisles helps increase sales as shoppers are forced to stay in the store longer and, by extension, buy more items that catch their eye.

Krost Shelving and Racking offers excellent quality supermarket shelving that can be tailored to fit your unique shop space.
